The Butchers’ Tower (Turnul Măcelarilor) is one of the nine defense towers of the historic citadel of Sighișoara.
The tower was built in the second half of the 15th century as one of two towers, with the other being the Furriers’ Tower, to protect the eastern Töre Gate. The original shape was an eight-sided prism, but after the tower was damaged, it was rebuilt on a hexagonal plan in the 16th century.
