Vlad Dracul House (Casa Vlad Dracul) is the house where Vlad III, ruler of Wallachia, was born in 1431. The house is located inside the historic citadel of Sighișoara.
Vlad III was commonly known as Vlad the Impaler, or Vlad Dracula, and is thought to be the inspiration for the main character Dracula in Bram Stoker’s novel of the same name. His father and predecessor, Vlad II, was living in the house between 1431 and 1435 when Vlad III was born. The house is one of the oldest stone buildings in the city.
Vlad Dracul House is now a medieval-style restaurant with an outdoor patio. On the second floor, there is a small museum about Vlad Dracula.
