The Bow Window House (Casa cu Bovindouri), also known as Serienescu House, is a historic townhouse on Ovid Square in Constanța. Built between 1911 and 1913 for lawyer Constantin Serienescu, it is named for the two projecting bow windows that dominate its façade.
Serienescu was a prominent figure in Constanța’s social and professional life during the early 20th century, and commissioned architect Nicolae Michăescu to design the house as the city center around Ovid Square was being transformed by new civic and commercial buildings.
The façade is distinguished by the pair of polygonal bow windows rising through much of the elevation, creating additional interior space while bringing more light into the rooms. Decorative details include geometric forms and metalwork, with balconies on the upper floor carrying zigzag-patterned railings. These features give the building an unusual appearance among the historic houses around the square.
After a period of deterioration, the house was restored in 2008, when a recessed third floor was also added. Although the building has changed over time, the projecting windows that gave it its popular name still define its appearance from Ovid Square.
