The Russian Priest Church (Biserica Popa Rusu), also known as the Holy Trinity Church (Biserica Sfânta Treime), is a Romanian Orthodox church in the Armenian Quarter of Bucharest. The church is dedicated to the Saints Nicholas and Parascheva.
About 10 meters south of the current church existed an earlier wooden church that was founded by Bănică Bogasieru and dedicated to Saint Parascheva. The name Russian Priest Church was given after a priest who served there after the Russo-Turkish War of the late 17th century.
The current church was built in 1813 by the priest Manolache and his wife Ilinca. A painting of the founder holding the church can be found on the wall of the pronaos. In 1867 and 1890 the church was restored and strengthened. The great writer and historian Nicolai Iorga visited the church in 1905, but when he returned in 1909, he found the church in ruins.
In 1915, the church underwent an extensive restoration during which the foundations were repaired, the windows enlarged, and the paintings restored. In 1925 the open porch with columns and the balcony for the choir were added. The earthquake of 1940 caused some damage after which the spire and the bell tower were restored in 1943.
