Hotel Continental (Hotel Continental) is a historic early 20th-century hotel on Strada Cuza Vodă in central Iași. Although later alterations simplified much of its original appearance, the building remains recognizable by its long symmetrical façade, tall arched windows, and surviving decorative details.
The hotel opened in the years around 1912, occupying an important position on what was then one of the busiest parts of central Iași. Its original design was considerably more elaborate than the building seen today, with Art Nouveau and Secession influences expressed through sculpted decoration, mansard roofs, rounded roof forms, and a corner turret that gave the hotel a more vertical silhouette.
World War II brought major damage to the building, and the repairs that followed changed its appearance substantially. The more elaborate upper sections were lost, leaving the flatter roofline and simplified façade visible today. Despite these changes, the lower floors still preserve the regular rhythm of tall windows and pilasters that characterized the original composition.
The hotel continued to operate through later decades and underwent periodic modernization while retaining its original function. It remains in use today as a hotel, with commercial premises occupying parts of the ground floor.
