The Saint Mina Church (Biserica Sfântul Mina) is an Eastern Orthodox wooden church in Constanța, standing beside Tannery Lake inside the Tannery Park. Built in the traditional style of Maramureș, its tall timber tower and steep roof make it one of the most distinctive landmarks in the park.
The church was founded in the 1990s after a local initiative to establish a parish dedicated to Saint Mina. The foundation stone was laid on 31 July 1994, and while construction was underway services were held in a military tent. The first liturgy inside the new church took place on 11 November 1997, Saint Mina’s feast day, while the formal consecration followed in 2010.
The project was designed by architects Nicolae Goga and Virgil Antonescu, with later supervision by Niels Auner. Craftsmen from Ieud in Maramureș worked on the timber structure, which follows the characteristic form of northern Romanian wooden churches with a high roof, narrow proportions and sharply rising tower.
Built almost entirely from wood, the church covers about 263 square meters and rises to roughly 41 meters at the tower, making it one of the larger wooden churches in Romania. Its location beside the lake gives clear views of the building from the surrounding park paths.
