Tannery Park (Parcul Tăbăcăriei) is a large lakeside park in Constanța, spread mainly along the western and southern sides of Tannery Lake. Its broadest green areas lie west of the water, where paths, smaller ponds, playgrounds and landscaped sections extend north from the City Park Mall, while narrower paths continue along other parts of the shoreline.
The name comes from the tanners who worked beside the lake in the late 19th century, when this area still lay outside the built-up city. A small tannery was established here in 1876, followed by further workshops, and although the industry later disappeared, the Tăbăcărie name remained attached to both the lake and the surrounding area.
As Constanța expanded, the western lakeside gradually developed into a major recreation area. Today this is the most park-like part of Tannery Park, with a dense network of walking paths, lawns, smaller bodies of water, a running track and cycle route. The large Țara Piticilor playground is also found here, together with sports areas and several cafés and restaurants around the lake.
The southern end is more varied. City Park Mall borders the southwest corner, while Saint Mina Church stands beside the water farther east, close to the Constanța Natural Sciences Museum Complex and its Microreservation. Several restaurants and terraces at this side of the park overlook the lake.
The eastern shore is much narrower, with the lake running close to Bulevardul Mamaia for much of its length. A path follows parts of the water here, but the setting is less like the landscaped western park, particularly toward the northeast where service and industrial facilities occupy much of the shoreline.
