Timișoara International Airport – Traian Vuia is the airport serving the city of Timișoara with domestic and international flights and it is the fourth busiest airport in Romania. The airport is named after the Romanian flight pioneer Traian Vuia from Timiș County.

Timișoara International Airport serves direct flight connections to almost 20 international destinations across Europe, as well as domestic flights to Bucharest International Airport (operated by TAROM and HiSky) and Constanța International Airport. The largest airline operating at the airport is Wizz Air, which uses the airport as one of its bases.

Facilities At Timișoara International Airport
Timișoara International Airport has two terminals: Terminal A is the smallest terminal, which is used for domestic flights. Terminal B is the larger terminal which is used for international flights.
Free WiFi is available thoughout the airport. Smoking is strictly prohibited except for the designated smoking areas.
The airport information desk, coffee shops, and vending machines can be found in Terminal B (international arrivals/departures). ATMs are located in Terminal A (domestic arrivals/departures).
Behind the security checks of Terminal A (domestic departures) there is a small kiosk. The Business Lounge is on the first floor, next to Gate 1.
Behind the security checks of Terminal B (international departures) there is a tax free shop and a kiosk on both the ground floor (Gates 5-8) and on the first floor (Gates 9-12). The Business Lounge and a smoking area are located on the first floor.
Getting To And From Timișoara International Airport
Timișoara International Airport is located 12 kilometers northeast of the center of Timișoara and can be reached by bus, taxi, private transfer, or (rental) car.
By Bus
Bus line E4 connects the airport with the center of Timișoara (terminating at the Maria Theresia Bastion) and bus line E4b follows the same route and continues onwards to 700 Square and the Timișoara North Train Station. Bus tickets can be purchased at the information counter of the airport. More information about the bus can be found on the website of the STPT.
By Taxi
The taxi stand can be found right in front of the exit doors of the airport terminal. Ridesharing apps Uber and Bolt are also available to find rides to and from the airport, but those cars are not allowed to enter the taxi rank.
By Private Transfer
You can also pre-book a private transfer to your hotel online, so you can skip the taxi queue at the airport as a dedicated driver will be waiting for you with a sign with your name in the arrivals hall. This is the most convenient way as you won’t have to worry about getting cash and wait for a taxi to be available during the busy summer months.
By Car
The airport can be reached by car via the National road DN6 (E70) from where you can simply follow the signs towards the airport via Strada Aeroportului.
