Weather & Climate
Timiș County features a moderate continental climate, characterized by the influence of the Pannonian Plain to the west. This results in generally warmer conditions than in the eastern parts of the country, with longer, sunnier growing seasons and relatively mild transitions.
Summer is warm and vibrant, making it an excellent time to enjoy the open-air cafés and historic architecture of Timișoara. Daytime temperatures frequently range from 27°C to 30°C, creating perfect conditions for city walks and outdoor events. Evenings are pleasant, usually settling between 16°C and 18°C.
Spring and Autumn are favored for their mild, extended transitions. Spring begins early, with temperatures rising from the high-teens in April to a comfortable 22°C to 24°C by May. Autumn is particularly long and pleasant; September remains warm with averages near 25°C, while October maintains a scenic, golden atmosphere with daytime highs around 17°C.
Winter is cold but often milder than in the mountain regions. Daytime temperatures generally hover between 2°C and 5°C, while nighttime lows typically dip to -3°C to -5°C. It is a great season for enjoying the city’s indoor cultural life and cozy hospitality.
