- By car: By car Botoșani is a 40-kilometer drive away from Suceava, 105 kilometers from Iași, 148 kilometers from Bacău, and 440 kilometers from the capital Bucharest. Car rental is available at all airports and in most cities in Romania. Be aware though that paid parking is applicable in some of the central areas of the city.

Getting Around In Botoșani
Botoșani is a medium-sized city and even though public transport is very poor, you probably won’t even notice that as you won’t have a problem getting around with the available options: walking, buses, taxis, ridesharing, and e-scooters.
- By foot: Most of the interesting sights are located in and around the center of Botoșani so you will probably go around by foot most of the time and walking is the best way to explore the city anyway.
- By public transport: There is a tram infrastructure in the city, but the trams have been replaced by buses a few years ago. There are plans to reindroduce the trams, but nothing has been confirmed yet. Public transport is very poor, but you probably won’t even notice this because the only two public bus lines cover the most important areas of the city. Line 101 starts on Strada Ion Pilat and then follows Calea Națională in northern direction past the stadium and the train station and returns the same way. Line 102 starts on Bulevardul George Enescu, passes through Strada Primaverii and continues northwards on Calea Națională as well, to return via the same route back south. Both bus lines operate at 10-15 minute intervals and tickets can be bought inside the bus. More information about the bus routes and schedules can be found on the website of Eltrans.
- By taxi and ridesharing apps: Taxis are also a relatively inexpensive and convenient way to get around in the city and ridesharing app Bolt is also available for rides in Botoșani.
- By electric scooter: E-scooters are also a fun way to get around and Bolt has a fleet available for rent in Botoșani, which you can find and book via their mobile app.
