Getting To Reșița

Reșița is located in eastern Romania and can be reached by car, train, bus, or private transfer.

• By air: Reșița doesn’t have an airport. The nearest airport is Timișoara International Airport, which is less than 2 hours away.
• By car: By car, the city is a 95-kilometer drive away from Timișoara, 40 kilometers from Caransebeș, and 155 kilometers from Drobeta-Turnu-Severin. Car rental is available at all airports and in most cities in Romania.
• By train: Reșița has two rail connections. One between Reșița North and Timișoara North, and the other between Reșița South via Reșița North to Caransebeș, where you can transfer to other directions, including Bucharest.
• By bus: There are also bus and minibus connections between Reșița and nearby towns and other cities in Romania. There is no central bus station, so make sure to check the details of your specific itinerary with the bus company directly.
• By private transfer: You can also get to Reșița with a private transfer, for example from the train station, from any of the airports, or from another city. Pre-booking a private transfer to your hotel or other destination guarantees the availability of a ride while you can skip the taxi queue.

Getting Around In Reșița

Reșița is only a small city but relatively stretched out. To get around, you can walk, or take a bus or taxi.

• By foot: The center of Reșița is very small and easy to navigate by foot, however, get to other parts in the north or east, like Stăvila or Lunca Bârzavei, you’d probably need some form of transportation.
• By public transport: Reșița has 10 urban bus lines that connect the different parts of the city and neighoring villages. You can buy bus tickets from ticket booths around the city, but you can also pay contactless with your bank card inside the bus, via the mobile app mobilPay, or via SMS. • By train: To get from the center to Lunca Bârzavei, you can also take the train from Reșița South to Reșița North.
• By taxi and ridesharing: Taxis are also a relatively cheap and convenient alternative to get around in the city. Ridesharing apps like Bolt and Uber are not (yet) available in Reșița.
