The Descent of the Holy Spirit Church (Biserica Coborârea Sfântului Duh) is a Roman Catholic Church in the Olosig neighborhood of Oradea, Bihor County, It is located on the corner of Republic Avenue and Strada Dunărea.
The church was built by Franciscan monks between 1732 and 1743. It was known as the Church of Friends and it was part of a monastery. In 1827, a fire caused some damage to the building.
Over time, the church’s appearance changed dramatically, starting in 1876 when the original tower was replaced by the current Baroque tower by the local builder Ference Knapp. Between 1903 and 1905 the nave of the church was completely rebuilt, the facade renewed, and the two side towers flanking the main tower were added. The famous architect Kálmán Rimanóczy Jr. created the new neo-Renaissance design, while the construction was in the hands of Ferenc Szstarill.
Only the crypt, the six side altars, and the pulpit remain from of the old church. The former monastery is now part of the military hospital. In front of the church stands the statue of Kálmán Rimanóczy Jr. and to the side stands a statue of the Assumption of Saint Mary into Heaven.
