The Statue of Anghel Saligny (Statuia lui Anghel Saligny) is a bronze monument in Constanța, standing above Gate 1 of Constanța Port and commemorating Anghel Saligny, the engineer who directed its major modernization between 1899 and 1910.
The statue was created by sculptor Oscar Han in 1957, but it remained without a permanent location for several years. It was finally installed inside the port in 1965, initially at a lower level near the maritime railway station, before being moved in 1974 to its present elevated position above the entrance. From here, the monument overlooks the harbor and several surviving structures from Saligny’s redevelopment, including the large grain silos.
Han portrayed Saligny standing in a long coat, with one hand raised toward his chest and the other held behind his back. The bronze figure is about three meters high and stands on a granite pedestal.
