The Albert Theiler House (Casa Albert Theiler) is a historic apartment building in the old center of Constanța, completed in 1926 for entrepreneur and philanthropist Albert Theiler, a leading member of the city’s Ashkenazi Jewish community.
The building replaced the former Hotel Metropol, one of Constanța’s early hotels, which had stood on the site since the 19th century. Theiler developed the new property as a rental apartment building with a semi-basement, ground floor and two upper floors.
Its eclectic architecture is dominated by neoclassical elements, with massive columns and sculpted capitals marking the main entrance and pilasters framing the windows. Art Nouveau ironwork provides a contrasting decorative layer, while the interior originally included an elevator and preserved mosaic flooring on the ground floor.
