About The Theodor Aman Museum
The Theodor Aman Museum is one of the oldest memorial museums in Romania. The house was built in 1886 in a Neo-Classical style and incorporates decorative sculptures by the artist Karl Storck. Other decorations, including mural paintings, stained-glass windows, plastering of the ceilings, wood paneling, and carved furniture were al designed by Aman himself. The artist used the house as his private residence and workshop until his death.
In 1908, the house has been converted into a museum dedicated to Theodor Aman and his works. In the museum you can find a collection of his works, but also other memorabilia from his life, including the original furniture of the house.
