The Palace of the Ministry of the Interior (Palatul Ministerului de Interne) is a government building on Revolution Square (Piața Revoluției) in Bucharest.
The first plans for the building date back to 1912, but the actual construction started in 1939. Due to World War II, the construction stagnated for a while and was finally completed in 1950. The building initially housed the Council of Ministers until it became the headquarters of the Central Committee of the Romanian Communist Party (PCR). On 21 December 1989, during the 1989 Revolution, President Nicolae Ceaușescu gave his last speech from the balcony of the building in an attempt to calm the people, but the next day he and his wife fled the building by helicopter via the roof.
After the fall of the communist regime, it became the seat of the Senate and the building was referred to as the Senate Palace (Palatul Senatului). In 2005 the Senate was moved to the Palace of the Parliament and since 2006 it houses the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The lateral buildings are now occupied by the Ministry of Health (left wing) and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection (right wing).
