The Musical Fountain (Fântâna Muzicală) is an illuminated fountain on City Hall Square in central Pitești, inaugurated on May 9, 2008. Designed by French specialist Laurent Ferron and constructed by Magictime, it was developed as a water, light, and music attraction, with its inauguration accompanied by a concert performed by the newly established Pitești Philharmonic.
The fountain has a basin shaped like a sector of a circle, with numerous fixed and moving water jets controlled by a computerized system. During performances, the jets vary in height and direction in synchronization with the music, reaching up to 10 meters, while colored lighting creates changing patterns across the water. The musical program includes classical compositions and other genres, with evening performances generally held during the warmer months.
