The John Sigismund Unitarian Academy (Liceul Unitarian János Zsigmond) is located in the largest school building in Cluj-Napoca, next to the Unitarian Church on Bulevardul 21 Decembrie 1989.
The school was founded by the Unitarian Diocese of Transylvania in 1557, as one of three schools established in the former monasteries of Cluj-Napoca, Târgu Mureş, and Oradea. The school has operated from different buildings across the city and moved into the current building designed by Lajos Pákey in 1901.
Under communist rule, in 1948 the school was closed and the Brassai Sámuel High School moved into the building. After the fall of the communist regime, the school was reopened in 1993 and in 2003 it was renamed after John Sigismund Zápolya, the first prince of Transylvania.
