The Jean Goilav House (Casa Jean Goilav) is a 19th-century historic residence in Botoșani that belonged to the wealthy Armenian Goilav family. The family owned extensive property in and around the city, while Jean Goilav later became one of the best-known members of the family through the large agricultural estate he managed at Rânghilești.
The Goilavs were among the prominent Armenian families of Botoșani and had been involved in the civic and economic life of the town since the early 19th century. By the beginning of the 20th century, their estate at Rânghilești had developed into a large commercial farming operation, producing grain on a scale that allowed direct exports to Germany and Britain.
The house was built as a substantial private residence, with broad proportions, a symmetrical façade and restrained classical detailing.
