Church of Saint Anthony of Padua (Biserica Sfântul Anton de Padova) is a Roman Catholic church in Constanța, completed in 1938 on a site used for Catholic worship since the 19th century.
A first chapel was established here in 1869, followed by a larger church completed in 1886 and extended in 1898. By the 1930s that building had become too small, so it was demolished in 1938 and replaced within the same year. The foundation stone of the present church was blessed in June, and the first Mass was celebrated in December.
Architect Romano de Simon designed the building in a Romanesque style inspired by medieval churches of northern Italy. Exposed red brick defines both the exterior and interior, while the tall bell tower rises beside the main body of the church. The design relies on arches, proportion and brickwork rather than elaborate surface decoration.
The church was occupied and damaged during the Soviet military presence in Constanța in 1944 and was returned to the parish in 1947. Major repairs followed in 1984-1985, when the present marble altar was also installed.
