The Brück House (Casa Brück) is a historic house on Union Square (Piața Unirii) in the old town of Timișoara.
Before Brück House was built, a pharmacy operated from an Austrian Baroque-style building, called the Golden Cross on this site. Businessman Salamon Brück purchased it so he could operate his own pharmacy in its place. The new building was designed in the Secession style by the city’s chief architect László Székely with the help of Arnold Merbl and construction took place between 1910 and 1911.
In its over 100-year history the ground floor has always been used as a pharmacy and part of its original interior design and furniture is still visible today. In 2012 Brück House was renovated at the initiative of an Italian businessman who had bought an apartment in the building in 1999.
Brück House is considered one of the architectural jewels of the city and together with the adjacent buildings on Union Square it forms a colorful ensemble of facades which is among the most photographed landmarks of the city.
The architectural style of the building can be described as Art Nouveau and Secession. The building consists of four floors and its facade is decorated with ceramic tiles with Hungarian folklore motifs. On the pediment, the initials of the first owner of the building, Salamon Brück, are inscribed.
