The Serbian Episcopal Palace (Palatul Episcopal Sârb) is a monumental building and the headquarters of the Serbian Orthodox Bishop, located next to the Serbian Orthodox Cathedral on Union Square (Piața Unirii) in Timișoara.
The palace was built between 1745 and 1748, around the same time as the cathedral, by the order of the Serbian Orthodox Bishop Georgije Popović. The building was initially designed in a Baroque style and only consisted of one story. The palace served as the episcopal residence and as a Rascian school. Later it became the headquarters of the Serbian Orthodox Bishop and served as the primary cultural center for the Serbian Orthodox faction.
In 1906 the building was enlarged and got a design upgrade following the plans of the architect Székely László. The palace got a second story and the entire facade was redesigned with Baroque and neo-Serbian styles to become one of the architectural jewels of the city.
Nowadays the Serbian Episcopal Palace has a small museum on the first floor with a collection of artifacts, portraits, silverware, and books of the Serbian Orthodox Episcopate from the 17th to the 19th century.
