Galați TV Tower (Turnul de Televiziune Galați) is a 110-meter communications tower near the Danube in Galați, distinguished by the circular restaurant and technical levels near its summit. Completed in 1968, it is one of the city’s most recognizable modern landmarks and offers wide views over Galați, the river and the Dobrogea landscape beyond.
Construction began in 1967 and was completed in March 1968. The reinforced-concrete tower was initially built for special radiocommunications, while radio and television retransmission later became part of its technical role. An elevator runs through the central shaft to the cylindrical upper structure, where communications equipment occupies the technical levels beneath the antenna installations.
A panoramic restaurant was incorporated near the top of the tower, at a height of about 86 meters, with tables arranged around the windows of the circular room. Reached by elevator, the restaurant is the only public access to the upper part of the tower and offers views across Galați and the Danube, with the Măcin Mountains visible beyond the river in clear weather.
