The Church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit (Biserica Pogorârea Sfântului Duh) is a Romanian Orthodox church in Galați, founded in 1993 together with a new parish in the Țiglina area. Saint Stelian of Paphlagonia is also honored as a second patron of the church.
The parish was established in 1993, when the site was consecrated and the foundation stone was laid. Construction continued until 1998, producing a large modern Orthodox church in exposed brick, with a tall central dome and smaller towers above the entrance and roofline. Interior painting and other finishing work continued afterward.
As the parish developed, a social center was added to the complex. Opened in 2009, the Speranțe pentru vârsta a III-a center provides meals, social assistance, medical support and other services for elderly residents.
