The Slătineanu House (Casa Slătineanu) is a late 19th-century villa on Bulevardul Carol I in central Sinaia, standing immediately beside the Town Hall. Built during the period when Sinaia was rapidly developing as a fashionable mountain resort, the house reflects the richly decorated residential architecture that came to characterize the town around the royal era.
The villa is also known as Vila Salamandra, a name inspired by the salamander-shaped medallions used in its exterior decoration. These ornamental details, together with the elaborate window surrounds, projecting sections and steep roofline, give the building a more decorative appearance than many of the neighboring private houses along the boulevard.
The house later became known by the Slătineanu family name and passed through several different owners and uses over the following decades. For a period it housed a branch of BCR, but despite these changes the historic villa remained one of the distinctive surviving residences along Sinaia’s main boulevard.
