The Poynár House (Casa Poynár) is a historical building on King Ferdinand I Square, on the corner of Strada Iosif Vulcan and Strada Nicolae Grigorescu in Oradea, Bihor County.
The Poynár House was built between 1907 and 1911 by the architect Ferenc Sztarill, who also designed the Kolozsváry House and the Sztarill Palace around the same square. It is built in a Secession style with a ground floor for commercial activities and two upper floors with apartments and features a corner tower with a spire. The facades are decorated with zoomorphic motifs and in the center of the facade facing the square you can see the inscription: “Banca Ardeleana și Casa de Economie S.A.R. 1894.”
The building was owned by Ioan Poynár, who was the director of a tobacco warehouse and was also part of the city council. The building has housed several commercial businesses, including a men’s clothing store, a furniture store, a dental practice, and the largest bookstore in the city.
