The Silver Knife Church (Biserica Cuțitul de Argint) is a Romanian Orthodox church located on Filaret Hill, on the border of Carol I Park in Bucharest. The church is dedicated to the Feast of the Transfiguration.
The church was built between 1906 and 1910 on the site of an earlier church from 1796. It was built as part of the festivities around the 40-year anniversary of Carol I as a King. The church was designed by the architect Nicolae Ghica-BudeÈ™ti and was based on the design of the Saint Nicholas Princely Church in IaÈ™i, which commemorated the 40 years of Stephen the Great‘s reign. The interior paintings of the church were the work of Costin Petrescu. Restoration works were carried out in 1949 and between 1992-1995.
