The Dimitrie Ralet House (Casa Dimitrie Ralet), is a large 19th-century residence in the Copou district of Iași. It belonged to Dimitrie Ralet, a Moldavian writer, magistrate, and politician who became one of the prominent supporters of the union of Moldavia and Wallachia during the 1850s.
Ralet served in several judicial and government positions and was elected to the Moldavian Ad-hoc Divan in 1857, where he took part in the political campaign that prepared the way for the union of the principalities. He died in 1858, only a few months before Alexandru Ioan Cuza was elected ruler of both Moldavia and Wallachia. His former residence later gave its name to the street on which it stands.
During the communist period, the house was converted into a student preventorium used for the treatment and supervision of tuberculosis patients, and it subsequently operated as the Copou Medical Center. The building suffered a major roof fire in 2018, after which much of the interior and roof structure were lost. The surviving walls and façade still preserve the scale of the former residence, with a raised ground floor, upper story, broad proportions, and decorative treatment reflecting later alterations to the original 19th-century house.
