The Industrial Credit Palace (Palatul Creditului Industrial) is a historic building on University Square in the old town of Bucharest.
The palace was designed by the architect George Cantacuzino and constructed between 1934 and 1935. Although built at a later stage and with a different architecture, the Industrial Credit Palace mirrors the shape of the Generala Palace, creating a symmetrical ensemble at the entrance of Strada Toma Caragiu which leads into the old town.
The idea was inspired by the Hausmann Boulevard in Paris and is one of the many examples of the Parisian influence on the architecture of Bucharest. The reason the second building was only constructed decades later was a lack of funds. The plan could finally be realized when the Industrial Credit company bought the land. Nowadays several restaurants operate on the ground floor of the building.
