The Piatra Neamț Cable Car (Telegondola Piatra-Neamț) is a gondola lift connecting the city center of Piatra Neamț with the recreational area on Cozla Hill. Opened in February 2008, the 1,915-meter-long installation provides panoramic views over the city and access to the viewpoints, walking trails, and ski facilities on the Cozla plateau.
The lower terminal is located in Piața Gării, immediately beside the Piatra Neamț Train Station. From here, the gondolas travel above the city streets and residential neighborhoods before climbing the forested slopes of Cozla. The route rises from 323 to 632 meters above sea level, covering a vertical difference of 309 meters in approximately eight minutes. The installation has 22 enclosed cabins, each accommodating up to eight passengers.
During the ascent, passengers can see the historic center of Piatra Neamț, Pietricica Hill, the Bistrița Valley, and Lake Bâtca Doamnei, with views extending toward the Ceahlău Mountains in clear weather. The upper terminal is situated on the Cozla plateau, where visitors can enjoy panoramic viewpoints or continue along walking paths through the surrounding forest. The area also contains a ski slope served by a separate chairlift.
The cable car operates as a tourist attraction throughout the year, subject to weather conditions and maintenance. Both one-way and round-trip tickets are available, allowing visitors to return by gondola or combine the ride with a walk on Cozla Hill. The latest operating hours and ticket prices can be found on the website of the operator.
