The Botoșani City Hall (Primăria Municipiului Botoșani) is the seat of the municipal administration in Botoșani, housed in a former boyar residence built around 1800 for Enache Codrescu. The building entered public use in the mid-19th century and is also notable as the place where the young Mihai Eminescu briefly worked as a copyist.
Anastasie Bașotă bought the Codrescu house in 1842, before Prince Grigore Alexandru Ghica acquired it during a visit to Botoșani and donated it to the city in 1851. The building subsequently accommodated several public authorities at the same time, including the municipality, prefecture, county tribunal, police and fire brigade.
Mihai Eminescu worked here from October 1864 until March 1865, when he was employed by the tribunal as a copyist. He was still a teenager, and the position formed a short episode between his years of schooling and the travels and studies that followed.
The former residence was extensively remodeled during the early 20th century, with work carried out between 1906 and 1914. Its present appearance combines the proportions of the older boyar house with these later alterations, including a high ground floor and an arched portico in front of the entrance that originally allowed carriages to pass beneath the building.
