Bistrița North Train Station (Gara Bistrița Nord) is the main passenger railway station in Bistrița, in Bistrița-Năsăud County. The station serves mainly regional and a few long-distance train services to other cities in Romania.

Three different railway companies operate trains at Bistrița North Train Station:
- CFR Călători is Romania’s national railway carrier and the largest operator of train routes at Bistrița North Train Station, including regional routes to other towns in Bistrița-Năsăud and an interregional connection to Cluj-Napoca.
- Interregional Călători operates an interregional connection between Bistrița North and Cluj-Napoca, and regional lines to Bistrița Bârgăului and Lunca Ilvei.
- Regio Călători operates a regional line between Bistrița Nord and Luduș.

Buying Train Tickets At Bistrița North Train Station
Where you can buy your tickets depends on the rail company you’re traveling with, but in most cases, you can buy them either at the train station or online.
- CFR Călători: Tickets can be bought at one of the ticket counters or vending machines inside the train station, via certified travel agencies, or online via the website of CFR Călători or their mobile app.
- Interregional Călători: Tickets can be purchased at their ticket office at the train station or online via their website.
- Regio Călători: Tickets can be purchased at their ticket office at the train station or online via their website.
Getting To And From Bistrița North Train Station
The train station is located to the northeast of the center of Bistrița. By foot, it’s a 15 to 20-minute walk from the Central Square (Piața Centrală) in the historic center.
You can also get to and from the train station by bus. The bus stop is on Strada Rodnei in front of the train station and several of the city buses stop here. Single-journey tickets are 1.80 lei and can be purchased inside the bus or via the mobile app TMX Transport Bistrita. There is also a taxi stand in front of the train station and ridesharing app Bolt is also available for rides in Bistrița.
