The Transylvania Hotel (Hotelul Transilvania) is a former hotel and a historic monument on the corner of King Ferdinand I Square and Strada Teatrului in Oradea, Bihor County.
The hotel was constructed between 1903 and 1904 on the site of the former Knapp House. The building was designed by the architect József Guttman and has an Eclectic style with Secession elements. In 1904, the hotel opened under the name Pannónia and had 60 guest rooms, a banquet hall on the first floor, and a restaurant and a cafe on the ground floor. In 1907, a cinema called ‘Urania’ was set up in the basement, where a brewery was located as well.
In the interwar period, the name of the hotel was changed to ‘Palace’ and between 1944 and 1990 it operated under the name ‘Transilvania’. Nowadays the Queen Mary Restaurant operates on the ground floor and the ballroom has become a venue for weddings and other events.
