The Museum of Romanian Records (Muzeul Recordurilor Româneşti) is a private museum in Bucharest founded by the collector Ion Chirescu.
The museum has an enormous collection of over 200,000 everyday objects you don’t normally see in other museums, but are getting extinct due to technological evolution. The museum distinguishes itself by the volume of its collection and has several Guinness Book of Records notations of the largest collections of its kind.
The museum for example has 10,000 cameras, 30,000 corkscrews, 35,000 pressing irons, 15,000 trivets, and 100,000 stamps and other philatelic items. Apart from the record collections, the museum also has several other historic items including typewriters, musical instruments, telegraphs, and typical household items.
