The Heroes Monument (Monumentul Eroilor) is a war memorial in Heroes Park (Parcul Eroilor), in the center of Cristian, in Brașov County. Inaugurated in 1994, it commemorates the people from the commune who lost their lives in Romania’s wars.
The monument was created by architect Florin Serada on the initiative of the local branch of the National Association of War Veterans and the Cristian municipality. It rises about five meters above the park, with a broad triangular base supporting a tall stone-faced column crowned by a sculpted eagle.
Its main inscription is dedicated to the heroes of Cristian who gave their lives for the unification of the country. Standing in the small park in front of the Town Hall, the monument remains the principal public war memorial in the historic center of the village and a focal point for local commemorative ceremonies.
