The Monument to the Heroes of World War II (Monumentul Eroilor din cel de-al Doilea Război Mondial) is a war memorial in Botoșani dedicated to local soldiers who died during World War II. It stands at the intersection of Calea Națională and Cuza Vodă and is used for official military and veterans’ commemorations.
The monument is formed around a tall fluted column rising from a broad stone-clad base. Bronze relief panels around the lower section depict Romanian soldiers in combat, while another side carries the national coat of arms and an inscription honoring the heroes of Botoșani County who fell during the war. A large abstract metal form crowns the column.
Ceremonies held here include religious services, military honors and the laying of wreaths, particularly for Veterans’ Day and other national commemorations.
