Târgoviște Train Station

Târgoviște Train Station (Gara Târgoviște) is the main railway station in Târgoviște, in Dâmbovița County, and is located south of the city.

Train Companies And Routes At Târgoviște Train Station

There are currently two railway companies operating trains running to and from Târgoviște Train Station:

CFR Călători is Romania’s national railway company and the largest operator of train routes at Târgoviște Train Station. They currently run regional trains to Bucharest North, Bucharest Basarab, and Titu.
Transferoviar Călători operates regional rail services to Bucharest North, Ploieşti South, and Pietroșița.

Buying Train Tickets At Târgoviște Train Station

Where you can buy your tickets depends on the rail company you’re traveling with, but in most cases, you can buy them either at the train station or online.

CFR Călători: Tickets can be bought at one of the ticket counters or vending machines inside the train station, via certified travel agencies, or online via the website of CFR Călători or their mobile app.
Transferoviar Călători: Tickets can be purchased at their ticket office at the train station, via their website, or mobile app.

Getting To And From Târgoviște Train Station

The railway station is located south of the city, at the southern end of the King Carol I Boulevard (Bulevardul Regele Carol I). By foot, it’s a 20 walk to Mihai Viteazu Square in the center of Târgoviște.

You can also get to and from the train station by public transport as many of the city bus lines stop on Strada Gării in front of the train station. If you exit the station, you’ll find the bus stop on the left. More information about the bus routes and timetables can be found on the website of SPMT.

There is also a taxi stand in front of the train station and ridesharing apps Bolt and Uber are also available for rides in Târgoviște.
