The Pitar Moș Assumption Church (Biserica Adormirea Pitar Moş) is a Romanian Orthodox church on Strada Pitar Moş in central Bucharest.
The church was built in 1795, during the reign of Prince Alexandru Moruzi. It is said that the ruler built the church together with a hospital after the plague epidemic. The church was rebuilt in 1898, under the reign of King Carol I. Thanks to the reconstruction, the church was able to survive the 1940 earthquake that destroyed many other buildings in the city. However, most of the original paintings had been painted over by Fritz Elsner during the reconstruction, with the exception of the painting on the porch above the vault, which still remains today.
The church is built on a cross-shaped plan with walls almost a meter thick and it has a large tower above the nave and another smaller bell tower.
