Getting To And From Maramureș International Airport
Maramureș International Airport is located about 10 kilometers west of the Baia Mare and can best be reached by car or (pre-booked) taxi or transfer as there is no public transport to the airport. Car rental is also available (see below).
By Taxi
Due to the limited number of daily flights at this airport there are not always taxis waiting at the airport, so it’s best to pre-book a taxi or private transfer to be guaranteed a ride. Ridesharing apps Uber and Bolt are also available to find rides to and from the airport.
By Private Transfer
Since taxis are rarely waiting for impromptu passengers at the airport, it’s best to pre-book a private transfer to your hotel or other destination online. This way you will be guaranteed that a dedicated driver will be waiting for you when you arrive at the airport. This is also convenient because you won’t have to worry about getting cash, wait for a taxi and haggle about the price because your ride is pre-booked at a fixed price.
