The Central Market (Piața Centrală) is the main covered agri-food market in central Vaslui, with a large fruit-and-vegetable section alongside dedicated areas for meat, fish, dairy products, bakery goods and other everyday foods. Part of the produce hall is reserved for local growers selling directly to customers.
The present market opened in September 2014 after the complete redevelopment of the former Vidin Market. Construction began in 2012 and created a complex of roughly 4,800 square meters, with more than 130 produce stalls and dozens of enclosed food shops. A 151-space parking deck was built above the trading area.
Inside, the produce hall is the largest part of the market, with seasonal fruit and vegetables sold from rows of stalls. Separate enclosed sections house butchers, fishmongers, dairy sellers and bakeries, while local food businesses also operate permanent shops within the complex.
