The Church of the Nativity of the Lord (Biserica Nașterea Domnului) is a Romanian Orthodox church in Sibiu, built in the early 21st century for the Lazaret IV parish.
The parish had been established after 1990 but initially had no permanent church of its own, with services held in temporary spaces until construction began in 2001. Designed by architect Liviu Niculiu, the new church was completed over the following years and consecrated on December 26, 2006.
Its architecture follows a Greek-cross plan, with a central dome rising above the nave and a covered portico marking the entrance. The design drew inspiration from the church of the Cozia Monastery and from the Saint Nicholas Church in Sibiu’s Lazaret district, adapting traditional Romanian Orthodox forms for a modern parish church.
The interior was decorated in fresco between 2008 and 2014 by Marcel Codrescu and his family, covering the walls and vaults with a traditional Orthodox iconographic program. A social canteen occupies part of the lower level, reflecting the church’s wider role within the parish community.
