The Iași Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Camera de Comerț și Industrie Iași) is a business organization headquartered in the historic Sturdza-E. Diaconescu House in the Copou district of Iași.
The chamber traces its history to 1864, when Iași was one of 15 Romanian cities in which chambers of commerce were established under Prince Alexandru Ioan Cuza. The institution represented local commercial and industrial interests until the communist government abolished Romania’s chambers of commerce in 1949. The present Iași Chamber of Commerce and Industry was later re-established as the legal successor of the former institution and today represents and supports businesses across Iași County.
Built in the late 19th century and altered during the 20th century, the Sturdza-E. Diaconescu House retains the scale and appearance of a substantial urban residence rather than a purpose-built office block. The two-story white façade is arranged around a central entrance reached by a broad staircase, with tall arched windows, decorative moldings, shallow pilasters, and a steep roof giving the building much of its character. The former house now accommodates the chamber’s offices and activities, including business support, professional training, and commercial arbitration.
