The former building of the Romanian Women’s League (Liga Femeilor Române) is a historical monument located in Central Park Constantin Brâncuşi, on the banks of the Jiu River in Târgu Jiu, Gorj County.
The Romanian Women’s League was a nationwide organisation for women’s rights, founded in 1894. The building in Târgu Jiu was designed by the architect Iulius Doppelreiter and inaugurated on 5 September 1926. It housed the Gorj section of the Women’s League, lead by Arethia Tătărescu, the wife of former Prime Minister Gheorghe Tătărescu.
The building now houses the ‘Constantin Brâncuși’ Research, Documentation and Promotion Center (Centrul de Cercetare, Documentare și Promovare Constantin Brâncuși).
