The Old City Hall of Cluj Napoca (Primăria Veche din Cluj-Napoca) is the former building of the City Council of Cluj Napoca, located on Union Square (Piața Unirii).
A town hall of the city was first mentioned in documents from 1537, but after several destructions, it was decided to build a new, larger town hall. The current building on Union Square was designed by Antal Kagerbauer who won the competition in 1841. Under the supervision of János Böhm, the building was constructed with a classicist façade and a balcony. The entrance had three archway gates, which were not only used to access the building but also as a route to Strada Mihail Kogălniceanu. On the façade above the entrance, you can still see the emblem of the city. On 16 September 1845, the City Hall was inaugurated.
In 1990 the City Council was moved to the new City Hall on Calea Moților, which formerly served as the County Council. The old City Hall is now used by the Department of Taxation and for wedding ceremonies.
