Sala Studio is a theater on Strada Gabroveni in the old town of Bucharest. The theater is one of the locations of Teatrul Mic, a public cultural institution funded by the Municipality of Bucharest.
Teatrul Mic, which literally means Little Theater, was founded in 1914 as a private institution called Teatrul Maria Filotti in 1914. The theater only had one location, the current Sala Atelier on Strada Constantin Mille. Under the post-war communist regime the theater was nationalized and renamed the Constantine Nottara Movie Actor Studio and later Theater for Youth and Children. In 1965, the name Teatrul Mic was adopted.
In 1979, a second performance hall was opened on Carol I Boulevard, called Teatrul Foarte Mic, which means Very Little Theater. However, due to seismic risk, the building has been closed. Instead the new Sala Studio in the old town was opened to host performances of the Teatrul Mic.
