The PTTR Hospital (Spitalul PTTR) is a historic building and former hospital in the old town of Bucharest. The building is located on the corner of Strada Poștei and Strada Sfântul Dumitru, opposite the Saint Demetrius Church and the Postal Palace.
The imposing building was constructed in 1914 based on the Eclectic design by the famous architect Petre Antonescu. Decades ago a high number of people who were treated in the hospital died, raising suspicion about their real cause of death. Stories that are going around suggest that their organs were stolen and sold for money. It is even suggested that the place has become haunted and that the heartbreaking cries of past victims can still be heard from the walls of the building, especially during cold winter nights.
The building now houses a modern medical clinic, the National Institute of Recuperation, Physical Medicine and Balneoclimatology.
