The Plumbuita Park (Parcul Plumbuita) is an urban park on the banks of the Plumbuita Lake in the Colentina neighborhood of Bucharest.
Plumbuita Park was laid out on a 88 hectare area in 1977, but part of the original area has been retroceded for development, which has more or less split the park in two parts. The park is nevertheless still the largest green space in Sector 2, which makes it great for long walks and jogging.
Inside the park there is a football pitch (for rent), there are several children’s playgrounds, kiosks, public toilets, a dog park, and outdoor fitness machines.
There are also several sights in and near the park. At Strada Plumbuita, between the two parts of the park, stands the Heroes of Plumbuita Monument which was erected in 1939 to commemorate the victims of the First World War and the War of Independence of 1877.
At the southern entrance on Pasajul Doamna Ghica, there’s the Plumbuita Park Church. On the northern side of the peninsula in the Plumbuita Lake, there is the Plumbuita Monastery which dates back to the 16th century. To the west of the park stand the Ghica Tei Palace and the Lady Ghica’s Linden Tree Church, and across the road from there is the Linden Tree Park.
