The Mihai Eminescu Amphitheater (Amfiteatrul Mihai Eminescu) is an open-air summer theater in the National Park of Bucharest. The theater is named after Mihai Eminescu, who is considered the national poet of Romania.
The theater is part of the Mihai Eminescu Cultural Center (Centrul Cultural Mihai Eminescu), headquartered on Strada Jean Louis Calderon in Sector 2. The organization was founded in 1939 as the Dichiu City Cultural Home of the Prince Carol Royal Cultural Foundation. After the abdication of King Michael I, the foundation became state property and the name was changed to Mihai Eminescu Cultural Home. In 2002, the name was changed to Mihai Eminescu Cultural Center.
The Mihai Eminescu Amphitheater is a Greek-style outdoor theater with a capacity of 4,200 seats. During the summer months, it is used for cultural performances and concerts.
