The Solomon House (Casa Solomon) is a historic residence built in 1900 on Alexandru Ioan Cuza Boulevard in central Brăila. Its richly decorated facade is distinguished by a semicircular enclosed balcony projecting from the upper floor, supported by an enormous shell-shaped ornament.
The house is named after Solomon Pascu, a Jewish merchant who traded in leather goods and footwear in Brăila during the early twentieth century, although the original ownership of the property has not been firmly established.
The two-story building has an eclectic architectural design, with classical pilasters separating its tall windows and ornamental reliefs covering the facade. The curved balcony forms the centerpiece of the decoration, with narrow windows following its semicircular shape and a cornice supported by sculpted brackets. Floral motifs, scrollwork, and decorative window surrounds complete the exterior, while the construction year 1900 is inscribed on the building.
The property was confiscated in 1953 and later housed the Public Guards Corps. After passing out of public ownership, it was divided into rented apartments. The building has since deteriorated, losing some of the decorative elements visible in early twentieth-century photographs.
