The Deutsch House (Casa Deutsch) is a former glasswork shop and a historical Art Nouveau monument in Oradea, Bihor County.
The Deutsch House was built between 1906 and 1910 by Károly Ignác Deutsch, a merchant whose family had settled in Oradea from Moravia (Czech Republic). The building was designed in an Art Nouveau style by the architect Ferenc Sztarill.
Károly Ignác Deutsch ran a glassware and porcelain store in the building, a business he had previously taken over from Jénos Sonnenfeld two doors further on the same street. In 1909, Deutsch K.I. became a joint stock company, and in 1913 it even took over the supplying factory in Pădurea Neagră to become the largest distributor in Transylvania, and other countries.
In 1917, the wealthy Deutsch family sold the company. From the 1940s the shop only sold porcelain from Hungary, and in the 1960s, it became a toy store.
In the 1970s almost the entire building was reconstructed during a renovation, but the facade was kept in its original form. It now houses a restaurant with a modern interior, but the colorful facade is still a reminder of the heydays of the glass business of Károly Ignác Deutsch.
